Working with the main toolbar
The main toolbar can contain tools that interact with the map, launch a different website, or bring up a widget dialog.
Buttons
Below is a list of tools that you can use and what they do.
- Zoom In -
by clicking on the map with your left mouse button and holding it down while you move your mouse you draw
a rectangle that defines the new extent that the map will zoom in to once you release the left mouse button.
- Zoom Out -
by clicking on the map with your left mouse button and holding it down while you move your mouse you draw
a rectangle that is subtacted from the current map exent and the differnce is what the map will zoom out
to once you release the left mouse button.
- Re-center Map -
by clicking on the map with your left mouse button and holding it down while you move your mouse you change the center
of the map to the location in which you release the left mouse button.

Zoom Previous -
this command will take your map back to the previous extent that you
were zoomed into if you have re-centered, zoomed in or zoomed out.

Zoom Next -
this command will take your map forward to the next extent that you
were zoomed into if you have re-centered, zoomed in or zoomed
out and then gone back to a previous extent.
- Layer List - this widget allows you the ability to turn map layers on and off.
- Bookmarks -
this widget displays a list of a few predefined spatial bookmarks around the city. You can add and delete bookmark
and those changes are maintained on your computer.
- Google
Streetview - allows you to view available Google Streetview images for the
location clicked on the map.
- Locate -
this widget allows you to search the map using a street address information or locate a
precise location X-Y coordinates.
- Basic Search
- This widget makes it easy to search for police incidents
- Print
Map - is a simple widget that sends the map to the printer.
